H&H Boys includes Alex (Zheng Yunxi), a Chinese American; XP (Wang Shaopeng) from Jiangxi province; Xingyu (Tao Xingyu) from Sichuan province; Yuan (Lyu Xinyuan) from Jiangsu province; and Matthew (Matthew Yip) from Hong Kong. The "H&H" in their group name stands for "Heavenly Harmony."
At the launch event, they performed and shared their stories and aspirations. This included their vision and mission for a place on the world stage. Their setlist, from Mystic to Rising, Roller Coaster and Dance The Night, unfolded like a progressive emotional journey. Lead dancer Xingyu brought strength and beauty to the stage. Main vocalist Matthew delivered clear lyrics. The band leader Alex anchored the group's stage presence, whilst rapper XP added rhythm. Sub-vocalist Yuan’s soft, delicate voice laid an emotional foundation on which all of this was built. The members were well choreographed, delivering a riveting performance across the stage.
Xingyu said he chose to pursue a career in music because a song helped him through a difficult time in the past. During this time of sadness he suddenly realized that listening to music actually boosted his confidence. "Whether in moments of happiness or sadness, music has always been by my side like a close friend," he said. "Therefore, I hope that H&H Boys' music can also accompany our fans just like a friend."
Matthew said he learned the piano as a child and taught himself guitar in high school. He also grew to love singing and began performing as a street performer. As time progressed he became more involved with music, allowing for his passion to grow deeper.
Alex said he was inspired by Taylor Swift. She gave him the passion and energy to love music. XP told their first audience that music is the only thing he feels he is good at, and where he has any charm, and that is why he always loved it.
Yuan said that as a child watching performers shine on television, he saw that artists do not just produce sound but transform their emotions into music to share with everyone. "That is what I felt, and I want to become that kind of person," he said.
Alex echoed this sentiment saying, "I want to give people joy and happiness, and sometimes share sadness through music. Ultimately, I want to be a person who shares emotions through music."
The boyband is presented by ZCO Entertainment. According to Charlie Wu, CEO of ZCO Entertainment, the group is dedicated to building a bridge that connects hearts through melody. They aim to actively dispel the loneliness, anxiety and alienation in the fast-paced life of the youth today. Through their musical works, they hope on becoming "messengers of hope" who offer companionship and encouragement.
"H&H Boys hopes to use sincere music and symbolic embraces to comfort every soul longing for resonance, weaving a happy future full of pure vision and warm companionship together with their listeners," he said.
Wu added, "This is not merely about harmony or just musical resonance, but also a form of reconciliation with the world. It allows young people to find release from this sense of loneliness, to gain companionship, and to draw strength from the music."
The members of H&H Boys underwent four months of selection, training, short drama filming preparation, and then music recording for their debut EP. Following the launch event on Wednesday, their new song Rising was released on major music platforms.
Regarding future plans, H&H Boys promised not only to sing, but also to participate in the in-depth writing and production of their music. Their management company has launched immersive content initiatives, including a 50-episode documentary short drama. This will follow the members' journey from trainees to their debut, set for release in December. The group also plans to expand their "healing universe" through digital avatars, animation and 3D immersive content. This will create a cross-platform IP ecosystem centered on human emotion.
In the development plan for H&H Boys, a key initiative is to enter overseas markets as an international boyband. By doing this they will also spread Chinese culture and music to the world. Their vision is to enable more Chinese-speaking youth to embrace their dreams and hopes, achieving success on the global stage.
