Chinese equities opened slightly higher Friday, stopping the declining trend of the previous two consecutive trading days and echoing an overnight Wall Street rally.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.01 percent, to open at 3,118.93 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went up 0.2 percent to 12,452.34 points.
