However, many netizens complained that the test is hard to register and the result usually comes out late. Sometimes, when they receive the reports, there are only one or two days left before the results become outdated. Therefore, apart from increasing personnel from other localities to help conduct the testing in Beijing, what additional measures should we take to alleviate the shortage of medical services? Thank you. Your question concerns us as well. The accessibility of nucleic acid test in Beijing should have been more than sufficient had it not been for the soaring demand of those who were required or who volunteered to undergo the test. While answering all demands, the supply challenge intensified. That is why, as you mentioned, the registration proved difficult and the issue of the results became protracted.
As the NHC, we have made efforts to overcome this problem in two aspects: first, we have directed the work in Beijing be carried out with even closer connections at all stages. We sent a team of experts led by Director Li Jinming to concentrate on guiding the anti-pandemic work in the city in a much more efficient way. Second, we urged more supports to Beijing. In addition to sending 20 testing teams from the 12 outside localities to assist Beijing, we have dispatched mobile P3 labs and also urged improved construction of more labs. We have also coordinated with Tianjin and Hebei so that they could help alleviate the intensive testing work of the capital. The designated institutes, with their capacities combined to conduct more than 400,000 targeted tests a day, have increased from 98 to 128. Beijing now has no difficulty in testing nearly one million people each day if it conducts individual testing on targeted group and batch testing on general group. I believe with the increasing supports and multifaceted measures, Beijing can improve its testing capacities to an even greater extent to gradually solve the problems that are concerning all of us.
