Public selection on the 10 best buildings built in the 1990s is underway to highlight the political, economic and social advancement of Beijing.
Beijing citizens are welcome to vote for their favorite buildings from 30 nominated buildings published in the media. Results of the selection is scheduled for release early next year.
The 30 buildings, recommended by building experts after a serious appraisal process, include China Sci-Tech Museum, new Modern Chinese Literature Archives and the libraries of Qinghua University and Beijing University.
The selection is a traditional event among Beijing architectural circles.
People's Great Hall, Beijing Railway Station and a series of museums, were among the top ten architecture built in the 1950s to mark the founding of People's Republic of China.
In 1988, Beijing selected another top 10 buildings, which included China International Exhibition Center, the Great Wall Hotel, the National Library and a subway station.
