The White Dagoba inside Lianxing Temple was built in the middle of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty.
The White Dagoba at Lianxing Temple, like the white dagobas at Miaoying Temple and Beihai Park in Beijing, is an inverted-bowl-shaped building, but it is light and slim, having absorbed the architectural style of south China. The base of the dagoba is a rectangular platform surrounded by balustrades. Winding staircases lead to the top of the platform. The dagoba's pedestal, built right in the middle of the platform, is decorated on all sides with exquisite patterns on carved bricks. The inverted-bowl- shaped body, more like a bottle, was the result of further development of early dagobas of its kind, which featured a dome-shaped body. The steeple on the main body of the dagoba is composed of a small Sumeru pedestal, a thirteen-tier cone and a metal canopy. On the very top of the steeple is a glittering gilded copper gourd and bead. Tall and big, it is the grandest such dagoba in the south of the country.
