Energy-Saving and Eco-Friendly Industries

Energy-saving and eco-friendly industries provide material and technological support for conserving energy and resources, developing a circular economy, and protecting the eco-environment. Covering energy-saving, recycling and eco-friendly equipment manufacturing, they are among the seven emerging industries of strategic importance that will be developed at a faster pace in China.

In August 2013, the State Council issued a document on accelerating the development of energy-saving and eco-friendly industries, which set clear goals, specified key sectors, and rolled out multiple support policies.

Speaking at the National Conference on Eco-environmental Protection in May 2018, Xi Jinping urged changes in the economic structure and energy mix, and called for stronger energy-saving and eco-friendly industries, clean manufacturing industries, and clean energy industries.

Stronger energy-saving and eco-friendly industries will support pollution control and help meet the people's desire for a pleasant eco-environment. They will promote a sound economic structure that facilitates green, low-carbon, circular and high-quality development, help develop new growth areas for economic transformation, boost green consumption, and foster green lifestyles.

節能環保產業

節能環保產業，即為節約能源資源、發展循環經濟、保護生態環境提供物質基礎和技術保障的產業，分為節能產業、資源循環利用產業和環保裝備產業，是國家加快培育和發展的7個戰略性新興產業之一。

2013年8月，國務院印發《關于加快發展節能環保產業的意見》，對中國節能環保產業發展作出規劃，明確提出產業發展目標和重點發展領域，并推出多方面具體支持政策。2018年5月，習近平在全國生態環境保護大會上強調，調整經濟結構和能源結構，培育壯大節能環保產業、清潔生產產業、清潔能源產業。

培育壯大節能環保產業是打贏污染防治攻堅戰，滿足人民優美生態環境需要的基本支撐；是構建綠色低碳循環發展經濟體系，形成經濟高質量發展的重要抓手；是培育新的經濟增長點，實現經濟轉型增長的重要內容；是推進形成綠色消費、培育綠色生活方式的重要途徑。
