A Shrine of Hehe Culture

Taizhou in Zhejiang Province is an important birthplace of Chinese Hehe Culture and boasts a profound legacy in this regard. It is a place featuring the integration of Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism and the images of the Two Immortals of Hehe. The Taizhou people's renowned spirit of harmony and their institutional innovations including the shareholding cooperative system and the system of holding democratic seminars all have great influence. 

At the First Session of the Fifth Taizhou Municipal Congress of the CPC in 2017, the goal of building Taizhou into a "Shrine of Hehe Culture" was set as a cultural strategy for Taizhou's development. The city has worked hard to promote Hehe Culture in an all-round way and strived to build Taizhou into an iconic place for disseminating and demonstrating Chinese Hehe Culture, an inclusive city that values harmony, understanding and tolerance, embraces the world with virtue, and pursues harmony amidst diversity. 

In recent years, centering on the spirit of Hehe Culture, Taizhou has developed a series of towns, parks, academies, reading bars, sculptures, reception halls, and exhibition venues for intangible cultural heritage. The city has created literary and artistic works such as the songs Paean to Hehe and Hehe Star, and some musical dramas. All of these works are imbued with the characteristics of Hehe Culture. The city also has held lectures and forums on Hehe Culture. These efforts have exhibited the city's profound cultural atmosphere and inclusiveness. 

In Tiantai County, Taizhou, Hehe Culture prevails everywhere. Such projects as Hehe Cultural Creative Block, Hehe Shrine Monument Park, Tiantai Mountains Folk Museum, Hehe Culture Park, Tiantai Mountains Family Tradition and Mottos Hall, Hehe Cultural Square in the Shifeng Lake Park, Longxi Hehe Cultural Research Base, and Hou'an Hehe Cultural Resort Village are all demonstrating Hehe Culture. The completion of the Hehe Shrine Monument in Hehe Town is of particular significance: It not only helps the public further understand the source of Hehe Culture and the excellent cultural traditions and the abundant cultural resources of Taizhou, but also promotes the spirit of Taizhou, strengthens Taizhou's cultural power and carries forward the cream of traditional Chinese culture.

和合圣地

臺州是中華和合文化的重要發祥地，儒、釋、道三教互融共生、“和合二圣”廣為流傳，和合文化底蘊深厚。臺州人的和氣精神以及股份合作制、民主懇談會等制度創新影響深遠。2017年，臺州市五屆一次黨代會把建設“和合圣地”作為臺州城市發展的文化定位和戰略目標，全面推進和合文化品牌建設，努力把臺州建設成“貴在尚中、善解能容、厚德載物、和而不同”的中華和合文化的標志地、傳播地、示范地。

近年來，以和合文化為核心，臺州市規劃建設了和合小鎮、和合公園、和合書院、和合書吧、和合雕塑、和合會客廳、和合非遺展示廳等；創作了一批文藝精品，如主題歌曲《和合頌》《和合星》，編排了和合文化元素歌舞劇等；開展了和合文化百場講壇、主題論壇等，展現出底蘊深厚、古今交融、包容大氣的城市人文氣息。

在臺州天臺，和合文化的濃厚氛圍更是遍布街頭巷尾，和合文化創意街區、和合圣地碑公園、天臺山民俗博物館、和合人間文化園、天臺山家風家訓館、始豐湖公園和合文化廣場、龍溪和合文化研學基地、后岸和合文化旅游特色村等，都是展示、傳承和合文化的金名片。特別是選址在和合小鎮內的和合圣地碑的落成，對于人民群眾進一步了解和合文化的源頭，了解臺州優秀的文化傳統和豐富的文化資源，發揚中華優秀傳統文化、弘揚臺州城市精神、提升文化軟實力具有重要意義。
