Sweet Home Henan

Sweet Home Henan, to put it in simple words, means that Henan is the hometown of the Chinese people. Located in central China in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, Henan, usually abbreviated as "Yu," is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese civilization where there were already human activities 500,000 years ago.

Henan is the center of the profound and long-standing Central Plains culture, which is a regional culture on the surface, but is essentially the source and mainstream of the traditional Chinese culture, occupying a prominent position in China's cultural history. Four of the eight major ancient capitals in China are in Henan – Luoyang, capital of 13 dynasties and kingdoms; Kaifeng, capital of 8 ruling courts; Anyang, capital of 7 kingdoms and dynasties; and Zhengzhou, capital of the Xia and the Shang dynasties. Many key and popular concepts in the Chinese culture, such as the totem of the dragon, Chinese characters, surnames, farming culture, TCM, martial arts, and the Yellow River civilization, all originated in Henan. The province is the embodiment of the Central Plains culture and the Han culture, and its fertile land has nurtured its kind, honest and hard-working people.

Since 2009, Henan has launched a series of promotional videos, such as "Sweet Home Henan: the Magnificent Central Plains," "Sweet Home Henan: the Central Plains in History," and "Meet China in Sweet Home Henan." In presenting its image, the province has cultivated the cultural brand of "Sweet Home Henan," which is defined by such keywords as the origin of the Chinese nation, long history, exchanges and mutual learning, innovation and creativity, and integrated development. Being the core of the Central Plains culture and a pivot in Chinese history, Henan is actively merging into the Belt and Road cooperation and engaging in international exchanges, appealing to more overseas visitors with a brilliant combination of antiquity and modernity.

“老家河南”

“老家河南”，樸素地解釋為中國人的家鄉在河南。河南簡稱“豫”，位于中國中部，地處黃河中下游，是中華文明發祥地之一，早在50萬年前就有人類在這里繁衍生息。

以河南為核心的中原文化博大精深，源遠流長。從表層看，中原文化是一種地域文化。從深層看，中原文化是中華民族傳統文化的根源和主干，在中華文化發展史上占有突出地位。中國八大古都有4個位于河南，分別為十三朝古都洛陽、八朝古都開封、七朝古都安陽、夏商古都鄭州。中華文化中的龍文化、漢字文化、姓氏文化、農耕文化、中醫文化、武術文化、大河文化等均起源于河南。河南文化集中展示了中原文化、漢文化的特點，深厚廣袤的黃土地滋養了河南人熱情純樸、勤勞善良的品格。

自2009年起，河南省陸續推出系列宣傳片《壯美中原，老家河南》《記憶中原，老家河南》《豫見中國，老家河南》，在塑造傳播河南形象的同時，明確提出了“老家河南”的概念，建構了“老家河南”這一文化品牌。作為中原文化核心的河南，是貫通古今的重要節點，在積極融入“一帶一路”、開展對外交流中，展現著中華之源、源遠流長、交流互鑒、創新創造、融合發展的“老家河南”，呈現古老與時尚完美交融的出彩形象，不斷吸引海外人士游河南、觀中國。
