The Press Office under the Ministry of Health published Friday afternoon a press release on the latest SARS situation on the Chinese mainland.
From 10:00 am June 12 to 10:00 am June 13, the Chinese mainland reported no new diagnosed SARS case, 73 patients recovered and no death. Patients recovered included 68 from Beijing, 4 from Tianjin and 1 from Shanxi.
From 10:00 am June 12 to 10:00 am June 13, Guangdong reported 1 new suspected SARS case.
From 10:00 am June 12 to 10:00 am June 13, the Chinese mainland also reported 101 misdiagnosed suspected cases, of which 84 were from Beijing, 13 from Tianjin, 2 from Guangdong, and 1 each from Shanxi and Jilin. By 10:00 am June 13, the Chinese mainland had a total of 120 suspected cases.
From 10:00 am May 25 to 10:00 am June 13, the Chinese mainland reported a total of 55 diagnosed SARS cases (including 10 new diagnosed cases and 45 patients who used to be suspected cases).
Of these figures,
Beijing reported 10 new diagnosed cases and confirmed 34 suspected cases as SARS patients
Shanxi reported no new diagnosed case and confirmed 1 suspected case as SARS patient
Hebei reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 4 suspected cases as SARS patients
Inner Mongolia reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 4 suspected cases as SARS patients
Liaoning reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 1 suspected case as SARS patient
Sichuan reported no new diagnosed case but confirmed 1 suspected case as SARS patient
Now 447 patients are receiving treatment in hospitals.
According to the statistics standard of WHO, by 10:00 am June 13, 6 provinces on the Chinese mainland had reported SARS cases. Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Hebei had reported no new diagnosed case for more than 15 days; Liaoning had reported no new diagnosed case for 10 days, and Sichuan had reported no new diagnosed case for 7 days.
