Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has been named best airport worldwide by both business and leisure travelers, according to the results of the authoritative AETRA survey.
AETRA is a year-round survey conducted at 48 participating airports, which measures passengers' experiences on the day of travel. It is recognized as one of the leading airport benchmarking programs and is jointly run by the worldwide airline and airport organizations -- the International Air Transport Association and Airports Council International, according to a press release from the HKIA Sunday.
In AETRA surveys conducted last year, HKIA ranked first in overall passenger satisfaction among both business and leisure travelers. Among the features of HKIA that passengers liked the most were the courtesy and helpfulness of airport staff, its comfortable and pleasant ambiance, its high efficiency and ease of access to and from the airport.
David Pang, chief executive of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, said "We take great pride in providing our passengers with an enjoyable and memorable airport experience every time they visit HKIA."
The other airports ranked in the top five are Incheon, Singapore, Luala Lumpur and Dubai airports.
The questionnaire of AETRA include navigation at the airport, airport service & facilities, security & immigration, airport environment and airline services at airport.
