Brazil remained unbeaten and wore down China 3-2 to claim the title of the 2009 World women's volleyball Grand Prix Macao leg on Sunday.
Also on Sunday, Poland produced an outstanding performance to demolish Thailand 3-0, clinching the only victory at the tournament.
The Chinese women rallied from two sets down to level it at 2-2,but the Brazil team, Beijing Olympic champion, came home 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 22-25, 15-12 on their third match point.
It was an even match from the very start. China built up an early three-point cushion at 8-3, but Brazil soon came back with a5-1 run and rallied to the opening win at 25-21.
Sheilla Castro collected 24 points from 38 spikes for Brazil to lead the game, Thaisa Menezes and Marianne Steinbrecher added 16 and 14 respectively.
Middle blocker Xue Ming scored 19 points for China and Hui Ruoqi, who is only 18-year-old and entering the Chinese team for the first time, had 17 points.
Danielle Lins of Brazil continued to produce aggressive serves in the second set while China's speedy attacks were rarely seen. Brazil soon took the second set 25-20.
But the things changed in the third and fourth sets. China looked more confident and put more pressure on their opponents, pulling two sets back with 25-19 and 25-22.
It seemed the Chinese team full of confidence and set up a 8-5 lead in the deciding set, but Brazil came back on their typical way and clawed it back at 13-11 and coming to a 15-12 happy end after Sheilla Castro secured the match point with a spike from middle of the net.
Wang Yimei, top scorer of China in the previous games, had ninepoints and didn't occur on the court in the last two sets.
In another match played on Sunday, the Poland team whitewashed Thailand in straight-set 26-24, 25-13, 25-22.
Five players in Poland team scored double-digit while Joanna Kaczor scored 13 points to help Poland team to their only win in the tournament as they lost to China and Brazil respectively in the previous days.
Malika Kanthong had 12 points for Thailand but could not stop Poland from running to the final victory.
