Kangding shot to fame nationwide through the ballad Kangding Qingge. It is a city located in east Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan. Historically known as Dajianlu from the transliteration of its Tibetan name, Kangding has been the political and cultural center of the Kangba area since ancient times. Beset by snow-capped mountains, it is a place of great interest for tourists with its crisscrossed landform and a number of cultural sights.
