The Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination Bureau?on ?signed an agreement with Sate Grid to guarantee electricity supply services at the Expo site.

State Grid, a Global Partner of Expo 2010, manages China's electricity transmission and distribution networks.

The signing of the agreement marked the end of a three-year electricity infrastructure construction phase, the officials said. State Grid's services inside the Expo site would start to shift from supporting constructions to support event operations.

According to the agreement, China State Grid will offer various services to the Expo 2010 operation, such as power consultation, electricity usage training and power support, said Xu Chuanpu, deputy general manager of State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company.

Ding Hao, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said that electricity power is essential for supporting Expo 2010 and the company has "overcome many challenges" to offer power support.

The signing of the agreement would be another milestone for the Expo 2010's cooperation with State Grid, Ding said. He also hoped that the two sides would join hands to support a successful, outstanding and unforgettable Expo 2010.

The State Grid became Expo 2010's global partner on December 17 in 2007. It has offered support to Expo 2010 since the planning stage of this event.

Most Pavilions and buildings inside the Expo site have been connected with its power grid.

The State Grid's responsibility also included offering backup power supply, dealing with power emergency and power support for large-scale Expo events.
