The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) opened on Sunday.

The central committees of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) have respectively sent their congratulations to the CPC Central Committee on the successful convening of the meeting.

Calling the week-long congress a landmark event, the four parties spoke highly of China's achievements over the past decade under the leadership of the CPC, and expressed willingness to strengthen cooperation with the CPC in the future.

Landmark event

The WPK Central Committee extended warm congratulations to the 20th CPC National Congress.

The 20th CPC National Congress is a political event of milestone significance in a new 100-year journey of the Chinese people, the WPK Central Committee said, adding that it firmly believes that this congress will be historic.

The CPV Central Committee also hailed the 20th CPC National Congress as an important event of historic and milestone significance for the party and in the political life of the Chinese people.

It expressed the firm belief that the congress will set the course for China to basically realize socialist modernization by 2035 and build it into a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful in the middle of this century.

Historic achievements

The WPK Central Committee said that the CPC has united and led the Chinese people in striving for building a modern socialist country, and has achieved remarkable results.

Over the past decade, the CPC has comprehensively strengthened party building and led the Chinese people in their vigorous struggle for sustainable development and prosperity of the country and for safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the WPK Central Committee said, noting that China's comprehensive national strength and international status have been improved unprecedentedly.

The CPV Central Committee said it is glad to see that since the 18th CPC National Congress, under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core and the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the CPC has led the Chinese people in making great achievements in various fields, completing on schedule the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and advancing socialism with Chinese characteristics into a new era.

Under the strong leadership of the CPC, the brotherly Chinese people have made remarkable achievements in building socialism with Chinese characteristics, said the LPRP Central Committee.

In particular, since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has united and led the Chinese people in making new leapfrog development, successfully achieving the first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, and historically resolving the problem of absolute poverty, it said, adding that China's international status has been on the rise.

These historic achievements have provided valuable experience and set a successful example for other developing countries, including Laos, and have also made major contributions to the cause of global development, it said.

The PCC Central Committee said that the CPC has led the Chinese people in defending national sovereignty, independence and unity, building socialism, developing the country's economy and consolidating China's role in ensuring global stability and balance.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC, under the leadership of General Secretary Xi Jinping, has turned China into a global leader of innovation, it said, noting that China has pursued an active foreign policy and put forward the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, which are widely commended.

Closer bonds

The WPK Central Committee said the party stands ready to work with the CPC to further consolidate their bonds, and make sure that the vitality of their bonds is given more powerful demonstration in all spheres of bilateral relations.

Vietnam and China are two friendly neighbours, the CPV Central Committee said.

The CPV has always attached importance to its ties with China and is ready to work with the CPC, state and people of China to continuously consolidate and promote the Vietnam-China good-neighborly friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new stage of development, it added.

The LPRP, the Lao government and the Lao people of all ethnic groups cherish the traditional friendship between Laos and China, and are willing to work with the CPC, the Chinese government and people to continuously consolidate and develop the Laos-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and continuously deepen and solidify the building of the Laos-China community with a shared future, so as to better benefit the two countries and their people, and to make greater contributions to regional and global peace, cooperation and development, the LPRP Central Committee said.

The PCC reiterated its firm position of upholding the one-China principle and said that it firmly opposes any attempt to interfere in China's internal affairs.
