KABUL -- Personnel of the Afghan national army have taken into custody 398 persons in western Afghanistan's Herat province over the past week for attempting to cross the border and enter neighboring Iran illegally, said an army statement from the western region on Sunday.
All the arrested individuals have been referred to the concerned bodies after preliminary investigations, the statement said without providing more details. (Afghanistan-Iran-Crossing)

HANOI -- At least three people were buried in a landslide at a mountain pass on Sunday afternoon in Vietnam's northern province of Phu Tho, local daily VnExpress reported.

SYDNEY -- Authorities in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) said on Sunday night that 12 people have died following a shooting targeting Sydney's Jewish community at Bondi Beach.
One of the offenders was among the dead and another one is in custody, Premier of NSW Chris Minns said at a press conference.
