LONDON, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) -- Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg was arrested Tuesday in central London following her participation in a demonstration in support of Palestine Action hunger strikers.
City of London police said it has arrested a woman under the Terrorism Act for displaying an item in support of a proscribed organization.
Video circulated by the Prisoners for Palestine protest group shows Thunberg holding a sign reading, "I support the Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide," outside the London offices of Aspen Insurance, which the group claimed to be insurers for Israeli weapons firm Elbit Systems.
Images and video clips also showed supporters sprayed red paint and hunger strikers blockade the company's entrance.
The campaigner was deported by Israel in June after she and 11 other activists were detained by Israeli forces while attempting to breach the naval blockade on the Gaza Strip aboard an aid boat.
In July, Members of Parliament voted to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist group after its members broke into Royal Air Force Brize Norton in June. Enditem
